Recently an Italian student back in January, who was investigating trade unions on behalf of his project at Cambridge University, was actually picked up by the police, tortured and murdered and his body left by the side of the road. That doesn’t give us cause for thought in Europe. We’re going ahead anyway and sign the association-agreement with Egypt, which will give them green light to do whatever they want with future-students and future-journalists, who go there and decide to investigate something that the government doesn’t want investigated. So as you see there is very little sense for principle, when it comes to free speech.“
